Joe James

Joe has an affinity for design patterns and an obsession in making sexy, semantic, code.

After being introduced to web development in the last term of college, Joe quickly dropped his dreams of being a digital fantasy artist and began his obsession with programming.

Joe soon started freelancing by making websites for local companies, while picking up skills in a list of technologies before discovering Ruby on Rails, which quickly became his tool of choice. Fed up of making the same type of website over and over for small local businesses Joe joined alliants at the end of 2010.

Since then Joe has worked in a team on a variety of applications, including a security application linking with Police systems, travel based CMS and built iPhone applications. Picking up objective C along the way, advancing his Ruby on Rails knowledge and most recently started working on developing applications for android phones.

In his freetime when he's not building HTML5 applications, and getting to use his favorite language (JavaScript), you can find him juggling in a local circus group or finding and improving on activities to satisfy his craving for learning. The last focus on activities and interests included Card Flourishing, ballroom dancing and Hammock Driven Development.
